Neuroinclusion Deserves More Play

April 2nd brings together two beautiful themes: children’s books and autism awareness.
And this year, Barbie stepped into that conversation in a way that stirred strong reactions.
Mattel’s new autistic Barbie arrived with a set of highly visible traits and accessories meant to signal autism. For many people, that felt too narrow, too literal, and too close to stereotype. A rich and varied human experience deserves more care, more depth, and more imagination than a checklist of outward markers.
We believe neuroinclusion grows when kids play together through shared experiences. We suggest a different path: Hive Five. Our card game, invites children and families into play that welcomes many ways of thinking, feeling, solving, and connecting. It brings together a colouring book style experience, 5 puzzles, and 185 cybersecurity situations that spark curiosity, teamwork, and joyful discussion.
This is where it becomes real:
One child sees patterns.
One brings focus.
One asks unexpected questions.
One adds creativity.
One keeps the energy flowing.
Together, they learn tolerance and that different minds enrich the same table. That is the kind of inclusion worth celebrating.
On a day like today, we would love to see more products that create connection, participation, and shared discovery. Hive Five was built with exactly that spirit in mind.
Because children deserve representation and experiences.
Stay Safe! Play Smarter!
